Holiday in Alsace #2 – Kaysersberg

Original playout date: 12 August 2007
Duration: 9:58

We’re in Kaysersberg in the foothills of the Voges,

This is a region that speaks both French and German and what’s written on the buildings reflects that. The Alsatian dialect is visible in these inscriptions also.
Includes the story of how my parents met Thierry Fuchs, the owner of a local café, and a friendship started that lasted many years for the rest of my parents’ life, and I would say a friendship I inherited also. I hasten to add that the restaurant where my mother is talking about having been poisoned one time is nothing to do with Thierry’s one, as he is a brilliant restaurateur.

Quote of the clip: “Turned out nice again, hee hee”
