Jet Aim – blow job reworking

Original playout date: 1 April 2008
Duration: 3:36

Right, anyone who has ever left somewhere on a jet plane, and not known when he or she would be back again, has had an aim in mind, a destination where they intend the plane to land in, as opposed to simply staying up there for the rest of their lives. After all, the Denver song is “Leaving” not “Living” on a jet plane…

This is certainly what one hit wonders Jane Birkin and Serge “boy in blue” Gainsborough, both alledgedly KGB spies working in French cafe society under the guise of being non-Russians (English in the case of Jane and not Russian any more in the case of Ginzburg).

Their mission was to corrupt western society by composing a pop song so filthy that it was sure to cause the downfall of capitalism, instead of which, their “jet aim” song, full of explicit lyrics about sex devoid of emotion, along with heavy breathing reached number 2 in the UK charts, thereby contributing to the success of the system it had been intended to overthrow. The Vatican then denounced it in a public statement, and most Catholic countries banned it and even the Fontana record label that released it, remembering they too had a name which meant something in Italian, withdrew it from sale.

Since I was in a Jet recently in Zurich airport and was indeed aiming to get back to Poland, I used my footage which had a lack-lustre original commentary which I had done better since then on another plane ride, decided to do my own version of the Jet Aim song. In order to respect Catholic sensibilities (ok Zurich is more involved with Zwingli, possibly, but he had little to do with the zwingling zixties, mark my words)I decided to do a whistle-blowing job on it, instead of quoting the filthy words, which I will leave the viewers to fill in in their own minds, if they wish to.

Also, I was going to replace the heavy breathing parts byu Birkin with my own snoring, but decided not to in the end, because, these days, dis russky boy ain’t got no time to sleep.”

It has a lot of views, no doubt because I labelled it up in a risque way. I’m surprised I didn’t get any death threats.

  1. A variety of sensations while reading this post . . . Lurid title followed by inviting introduction, I kept on reading . . . I didn’t know any KGB spies from way back when were publicly outed, much less that they were trying to subvert the west through media way back before fake news existed! Let me give them a google . . . oh she’s English and his name is Gainsborough so he probably is too, so this is a comedy post then . . . Was their song banned? Jet aim . . . oh that’s a play on words and the author is a linguist so of course his attention would be caught by that title . . . oh it was banned. . . and Serge is French —- wait, were they KGB agents?! No, it says she’s still in Paris and is 71 years old. Let me just listen to the song. Beautiful footage and crisp clean whistling. Would have enjoyed the snoring finale, but if there’s no time zzzs even these zvifty zomeodd years after the zong came out zo be it.

Coming to an end I wasn’t sure if, over the 10 minutes of reading the post, doing research about controversial musicians, and listening to some wonderful whistling I had just experienced some of the fabled subtle, biting wit from “Across the pond”. Or across the pond and then some. Then I saw it was written by an accountant and so I knew I definitely hadn’t read anything funny.
