Rogue Trader

Original playout date: 4 April 2008
Duration: 2:39

I received a private message saying it would be a good idea if I gave the sozzled street trader in the Tczew video a separate clip, so that he’d be seen by more than those few willing to watch through nearly a quarter of an hour film about some remote Polish town.

I think this idea to be eminently sensible, and so, with apologies to those who’ve seen this bit already (ok, for you the effects are different this time) here’s Trevor the tramp trader from Tczew!

  1. Unfortunately …….https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHJQuhqnTu8………seems to be a dead link. p.s…..the gentleman in the photo immediately looks like a rogue trader. As if his whole purpose in life is to be a rogue trader. Whatever their nationality rogues seem to have a certain look. Occasionally you can judge a book by its cover. “It’s true…..possibly” as Alan Bennet’s lady in the van might have said. Regards, Alan.

    1. The link should be working, it’s not private this time. To be honest I have no idea whether it was a dodgy deal or not, but generally speaking buying films from alcoholics in the street is not really a good idea. I can’t see any upsides and quite a few downsides. Probably the CDs were stolen, and if you want to steal a film there are more sophisticated way to do it than ones involving bits of plastic. Being a thief is one thing, being a thief who doesn’t follow a green code of practice is quite another!
