Huliganov’s Finnish Experience #4 – From Puumala to Savvonlinna

YouTube Poster

Original playout date: 6 January 2008
Duration: Savvonlinna is an old Finnish term, meaning “soap on a rope”.

Here we go across from Puumala to Savonlinna, a fine castle, but not so easy to find, especially with so little light each day!

My Finnish hitchhiking guest Kai is still here for part, talking about Lingonberries. We see Finland’s tallest mountain and water on both sides of the road, but which could as well be fields anyway, as they are covered in snow and ice.
After looking round for it we get to see inside and a fine castle it is.
Quote of the clip: So many lakes, who is going to catch you?
As usual 50 seconds of a song which was pinched from the middle ages by a choir with a clever manager and lawyer is considered by YT worth more that all the troube of getting to and filming and commenting on Savvonlinna.
