Stryków north of Łódż was for many years the point at which the A1 motorway closed, you had to come off and use back roads and usually the place got blocked with cars for that reason. They will be happy that since 2012 the motorway now goes past them and their lives have gone back to normal. This documents the time when Stryków was placed “on the map” for about 5 or 6 years while we all waited for the road to finish. The backroads I show, including the secret cut through I show here, are all still there but much nicer now as they are not oversubscribed any more.

As many reading this will know, I went on to do a load of driving videos, but this was one of the earliest attempts, showing the road between Czarnków and Szamotuły in -6 degree cold and snow everywhere. Very typical Polish road scenery.

Originally it contained a musical backing track with several pieces that did not obscure my commentary, however it was an early copyright claim and so it had to be replaced by a new soundtrack which still produced a copyright claim after the next goalposts change, so I lost by better audio and am left with no advantage to having a piece called “Galactic Time” by Aalborg Ambient Soundtracks in place of my usual vibrant commentary. Does anyone wonder why I have mainly no music on my later videos?

A litte dark and atmospheric, a reminder of how my vsits to Czarna Hanka hotel in Czarnkow used to be when I used to be the auditor of a nearby noted factory.
It demonstrates the use of fizzy orange flavoured vitamin pills. This occasioned the sarcasm of some commentators ho pretended that they did not have them in their own countries, and were amazed by them.
