上を向いて歩こう

Original YT playout date: 3 February 2010
Duration: 2:23

上を向いて歩こう has never been so extraordinarily renditionated. Kyu Sakamoto was a brilliant and soulful performer of this piece, but that won’t stop anyone else getting their hands on it and making vastly inferior versions, like this one here by Lucjan O’ Poworocki. If you think this is sacriledge, you should just look at what Taste of Honey did to it!

Huliganov and Friends Christmas Variety Show

Original YT playout date: 24 December 2009
Duration: 19:50

“The show that is so dire that I would not dare to show it at any other time of year, although this is actually being reblogged on HTV in the middle of Summer.

You may be wondering where the Christmas Linguistic Quiz is, but owing to the fact that I had a strike earlier, which meant I went on strike, I didn’t do the preparation for that one early enough, which means we’ll roll over the prize money accruing on http://www.oioioio,com for next time. There’s very little there so far anyway. So I decided just to chuck together a few things that haven’t been played out yet some of which I recorded in the first half of 2008 and wasn’t sure whether to play out at all!

Maybe some people will find something to amuse them in there somewhere…”

Greensleeves

Original YT playout date: 11 October 2009
Duration: 5:15

Lucjan O. Poworocki’s latest “Extraordinary Rendition” takes us into the composition of that fractionary King of merrie England Henry the Eighth, an ode to his paramour and her penchant for using her brachial garments as an Ersatz hankerchief.

The second course features Huliganov, discovering how some of the food and drink outlets in frankfurt Airport are failing to tick all the boxes when it comes to TQM and governance issues…

How Deep is Your Love?

Original YT playout date: 10 October 2009
Duration: 4:38

Lucjan O. Poworocki makes an extraordinary rendition of this Gibbs Brothers classic. Afterwards the Boss gives a dressing down to Miss Jones for being inappropriately dressed at the office.

The Boss was a one-off character made by me but his only real distinguishing feature was having one eye. Other than that he was similar to other characters I had already done. The irony of someone with only one eye criticising colleagues for their apprearance at work was supposed to be something along the lines of beams and motes, but when I checked about real human cyclopses the images of cyclopia were too tragic really to be adjoined to any flippant humour, so effectively I didn’t take the idea any further.

Lucjan O. Powrocki’s Extraordinary Rendition of Schubert’s “An die Musik”

Original YT playout date: 23 August 2009
Duration: 3:19

“””Du holde Kunst! In wieviel grauen Stunden…”” wrote Schubert, the composer who gave his name to a popular sweet in powdered form, to his Muse known as Musik (sic). “”Thou gentle art, in how many grey hours in which the earths wild circle encompassed me, hast thou ignited warm love in my heart, and draw me into a better world…””

After this Poworocki draws himself into the world of fast food, making short work of one of Knorr’s products, reconstituted dried potato.”

Have you seen but a white lily grow?

Thursday, January 7, 2021

Original YT playout date: 21 June 2009
Duration: 1:48

Lucjan O. Poworocki returns with a grievous rendition of this music class staple. Originally composed by Robert Johnson in 1616 for one of Ben Johnson’s plays, and possibly hummed by the Bard William Shakespeare himself on his way to work, this piece has been massacred by aficionados over the centuries, most notably of late by the former Police-man and head teacher Sting, who got his name while trying to put the songs lyrics into action and “taste the bag of the bee”. Probably.

Non Te Scordar Di Me

Original YT playout date: 12 February 2009
Duration: 3:22

“This is the a premiere for two new characters which emerged as I was mucking around with a program called Cyberlink YouCam – Lucjan O Poworocki and then a Yorkshire comedian whom I shall probably dub Bernie Mansfield, or something like that.

I have no idea whether people will like this or not. I’ve done two of these for now: this and another similar one. Have to see how it goes from there. Anyone else would have done two separate films instead of a double bill in order to double the hits, but I’m a fool to myself, sometimes, I really am…”
