Holiday in Alsace #12/12 – The journey home

Yes, we’ve reached the 12th and final part of the Alsace holiday saga, and I hope that you enjoy the road trip shots, the rare photo of my wife as a 19 year old, the impromptu Borat impersonation and the music of the UK Mr Big (NB not the same as the US group of the same name) and the full version of the song which has started each episode of this series, namely “Ne me quitte pas” by Brel, a song that launched many translations such as Shirley Bassey’s “if you go away” in the 1950s but none of them come in my opinion anywhere near the original, which must be in the top ten French language songs of all time.

Turek

A little footage I took in Turek when I visited in the summer to help out my Maltese friend here, Robert, who was interested in a certain clothing factory. You see a little industrial photography here (I take a great deal of this but because of confidentiality it never ends up on youtube of course, but in this case it is absolutely non-sensitive.)

The highlight was the restaurant called Colosseum, worthy of a more populous catchment area than Turek.

Teammates having fun in Pułtusk

We’re having a day at Pultusk’s Dom Polonia. The match you see is in the vicinity of the castle, the shots from the meal are in the castle itself, and the evening karaoke competition (which I won, BTW, but I didn’t have any memory card left to film it) was in the castle grounds.

Crusaders’ Castles (“Opanuj Gniew”)
